Top Ten Tuesday: Ten Books I'll (Probably) Never Read

Top Ten Books I'll (Probably) Never Read

I don't want to say never because although the chances are slim, maybe I'll have a weak moment one day and cave in.

1. 1984 George Orwell (I tried to read this. I really did. I doubt I'll get back into this one, pretty much ever.)

2. Fire and Flood Victoria Scott (I don't have anything against this book. I just feel it will be one of those books that slip through the cracks.)

3. Scarlet by Marissa Meyer ( I didn't really care for Cinder so I probably won't continue with this series of books.)

4. Teardrop Lauren Kate

5. The Diviners Libba Bray (Way too long, not enough interest)

6. Alice in Zombieland Gena Showalter

7. Ready Player One Ernest Cline

8.Walking Disaster Jamie McGuire

9. Breakable Tamarra Webber

10. Unravel Me Tahereh Mafi

  1. I LOVED Ready Player One. It's a really creative story. And as far as The Lunar Chronicles go, I think they get much better. I liked Cinder but wasn't blown away until Scarlet. Good list though. I will probably not read the Shatter Me series or Alice in Zombieland either.

  4. You're not missing anything by not reading Alice in Zombieland. There really is no connected to Alice in Wonderland at all. Sorry that you didn't like Cinder or Shatter Me, I loved them.

  5. The only one on this list I have read is 1984 and that was for school. I have no interest in Cinder or any in that sequel.

  6. Wow. There's a lot of books on this list that I have read and liked. It's a shame that you didn't like Cinder. The Lunar Chronicles is one of my favorite series. I get what you're saying about Fire and Flood. I've wanted to read it for a while, but still haven't gotten the chance to pick it up. I just bought 1984 and Alice in Zombieland the other day and am hoping to read them soon. Also, I've heard great things about Ready Player One. I feel for you with Unravel Me. I didn't like Shatter Me and might not have continued the series if it weren't for the fact that I already had the first two. Ultimately, I'm really glad I continued on and read the rest of the series. Great list, though! There's just too many great books to read to spend time reading books that you don't feel excited about.

    1. Everyone keeps saying The Lunar Chronicles gets better. Maybe I'll change my mind about it and read it.

  7. NOOO Alice in Zombieland is one of my favorite books evaaa. And there is a fourth one coming out this year that I'm so excited for. Ahh man, you should give it a try though. Although I know some people didn't agree with it and I totally respect if you're one of them. I might actually disagree for the Shatter Me series. That's high on my TBR. Love this post Jazmen :D

  8. Oh you have a some books here that I enjoyed and/or loved. Hard to fight with someones mind. I understand others, like Ready Player One (I read it, but I was so near to give up on that one). I did not read Walking Disaster neither because I thought that one book of the same story was enough, but I did read its epilogue.

  9. I LOVED Alice in Zombieland…take that book off this list! :)

Actually, I loved Cinder, and Scarlet, etc. And Fire & Flood…loved it! Oh well, there are so many books to read, not enough time, so you should only read what you really want to read. ~Pam

  10. Scarlet was meh... well for me.. although I loved Cinder. I've read good things about Ready Player One so I'm really hoping to read it. I'm also hoping to read 1984. I've been considering getting it for so long but more exciting books get in the way. As for Unravel Me, I have to admit that the whole Shatter Me series wasn't really all that good. It was too focused on the romance rather than balancing it with the dystopian side of the story.. and in a lot of times, it just gets too forceful (but I still finished it, lol).

  11. Aww sad to see you didn't like Cinder. I've been meaning to read Ready Player One, but I don't know if I would ever get to it. And I also need to read Shatter Me, but I just keep putting it off :P

    Nice list Jazmen!

  12. I do think that The Lunar Chronicles gets better and better with every book, but if you just didn't like Cinder at all, then it's probably not a series for you. A lot of the others are on my TBR, but I haven't read any of them (except, you know the fact that I tried to read 1984) - who knows if i ever will!
