Feature and Follow Friday, # 20

Gain new followers and make new friends with the Book Blogger Feature & Follow! If this is your first time here, welcome! You are about to make some new friends and gain new followers -- but you have to know -- the point of this hop is to follow other bloggers also. I follow you, you follow me.

Feature and Follow Friday is hosted by Parjunkee and Alison Can Read. This week's F&F topic/question is:

Question of the Week: Have you ever convinced someone to read a book, a series, or a whole genre? What book(s) and who was it? Did they like it?

I'm almost always recommending The Catastrophic History of You and Me and The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer. I haven't had one person, YET, that hasn't liked The Catastrophic History of You and Me. Others find The Mara Dyer series dark, or creepy (in their words.) I don't particularly like "dark" novels but for some reason this one doesn't seem dark to me. It's actually one of my favorites. I'm just glad I don't wind up recommending books people wind up hating. That would suck :P

  1. I wasn't a huge fan of Mara Dyer. It wasn't too dark, I just was impressed. I will have to look into TCoYaM though. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I'm also an old follower via bloglovin. You should def read the Trylle Trilogy. Once you do try to remember to tell me what you thought!

  2. Yes it would suck if someone hated what you recommend I agree.

  3. Hopping through. I have a signed copy of the Catastrophic History and I still haven't read it. I've always meant to.

  4. Our book club encourages reading just about EVERYTHING! We vote on monthly group reads to discuss. Sometimes we hate 'em; sometimes we love 'em. The most important thing is to have fun, right?

    1. I think that's exactly the point :) Thanks for stopping by!

  5. I always see The Catastrophic History of You and Me in bookstores, and I've been wanting to read it since forever, but I never actually got around to it. Hopefully I'll be able to read it soon, though! :D Happy Friday!

  6. Yes for The Catastrophic History of You and Me! I loved that one! As for Mara Dyer, I actually am afraid to start that one because of mixed reviews!

  9. I haven't heard of these titles yet, so I will be definitely looking them up and start reading them, I will let you know what I think.

I have a couple of people convinced to read the Shatter Me series by Tahereh Mafi and both of them really enjoyed them! I love lending out my books and knowing someone will enjoy them. ^_^
Although I have to admit, I do miss the books when they are out being read hehe.

I've been following your blog for a while, but only now been replying and I should've done this sooner!
    Love your blog.

    1. Thanks so much! I haven't read the full Shatter Me series yet but I have to admit I wasn't blown away by the first although I didn't dislike it. I usually find if I don't like the first book I'm swept up by the second at least :)

  10. I'll have to check them out.

  12. I really wanted to read The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer and somehow haven't gotten 'round to it! Thanks for reminding me ;) I tend to recommend books to a friend of mine who actually reads a lot more YA than me! I'm an old GFC follower.
Thanks for sharing :) I hope you have a great weekend!
