Awry (The Archers of Avalon Book Two) Book Review

Awry (The Archers of Avalon Book Two) Book Review

Rating

5 out of 5 stars

Goodreads Synopsis:
Sometimes love is meant to be. But sometimes...love is the death of you....

Seventeen-year-old Scarlet has just died. Only, dying isn't unusual for a girl under a centuries old curse that left her semi-immortal.

This time, though, she comes back to her current life instead of awaking in a new one, and she realizes the curse is changing. Together with the immortal Archer brothers, Scarlet must piece together her life and try to break the curse before her impending death comes again.

I just adored this book. In the words of John Green from the book Fault in our stars, “I fell in love the way you fall asleep, slowly than all at once.”

I was actually reading another book at the time but it slowly and surely fell to the waste side. I just couldn’t stop reading this book. It had the perfect amount of everything: the right amount of romance without being cheesy, the perfect amount of suspense and mystery to keep the reader, and the right cast of characters. They all meshed so well together and provided the story with such life. They really did seem like someone you could possibly know. I also appreciated the way the author transitioned from the past to the future, it was very well done and easy to keep up with, which some authors struggle with doing.

The writing was masterful. I constantly had to stop to highlight and jot down quotes that I loved. It was simply everything one would look for in a good book. It was worth losing sleep over and I simply cannot wait to read the next book. I don’t want to say last book because I don’t want it to be over. :(
